Comments: I've always wanted to have my own chinchilla but my oldest daughter got one herself so I find myself baby sitting her chin who I call my furry grandbaby since I don't have any real grandbabies. Her chinchilla's name is Bonnie and I believe she is about 6 yrs old.

Comments: I just got my first chinchillas. They came as a pair. Both male. I had been looking and learning about them for atleast a year to make sure they'd fit into my cat's lives and if I could afford them. They live in my bedroom and get very rowdy at night. I don't mind. They get me happy by just watching their busy-body selves. One does dominate the other and chews his fur but it is slowly changing because I try and keep them busy and tired. New river rocks, boxes everynight! A running spree everyday. I did learn a huge lesson. They will jump out of a window fast and with no accessment. My lab caught one and did not puncture him and gave him back. Lucky! They can squeeze into very small spaces.

Comments: Brilliant website! Am considering starting a 'chinchilla fund' for a cage, etc so I may adopt one from a rescue centre. Love all the videos, photos and fascinating and super interesting facts etc! The 'Mature chins' page is very sad; I've never had a chinchilla (yet!) but I've lost hamsters and guinea pigs and first made 'The' decision when I was nine years old....my thoughts are with all those who are ever lost a beloved pet, including the creator of cheekychinchillas.com .
